    Educational Support


    St James has a highly skilled and dedicated Education Support Team. The team consists of a  Learning Support Teacher, a psychologist, and several teacher assistants who work with the teachers in the classrooms.


    The Educational Support Team work with issues relating to childrens' physicalogical, psychological, behavioural, social and emotional needs.


    The psychologist offers specialised treatment for more complex issues or problems that can occur in childhood. eg anxiety, ADHD.


    On enrolment at St James students are assessed to determine their level of work and their individual needs. Excellent transition programs are in place for students entering Primary School from Pre School and from Primary School to High School.


    St James has four teachers fully qualified in the Reading Recovery program which is designed for children in Year 1 who have difficulty with reading. Their specific skills in understanding how children learn to read  are a wonderful asset in any classroom.
